5 novel dog-friendly activities in Hong Kong

We have all enjoyed the rise in pet-inclusive activities in Hong Kong in recent years, and have all become familiar with our pet-inclusive parks, restaurants, glamping and hotel staycation options. But there are still some novel pet-inclusive activities popping up on the market that you might not be aware of… here are five new ways to spend the day with your pup.

Cycling

With the expansion of cycles paths out in New Territories, there are bike rental shops at cycling hot spots such as Tai Mei Tuk, Tseung Kwan O and beyond that allow pet owners to rent 4-wheel bikes to explore the neighbourhood on wheels. Prices will vary depending on location, but it sure makes for a fun and alternative way to explore with the dog!

If you fancy taking your adventures to the sea, certain rental shops apply the same rules to hiring kayaks and paddle boards!

Check these out here!

Inflatable Water Park

Happy Park is a doggie water park in Yuen Long that allows both dog and owner to get into the water and cool off in the summer heat. The inflatable park comes with a built-in obstacle course and slide, and resides on a large grassy allotment for the pups to enjoy. The space also offers catering and a villa to those who wish to rent out the space for parties.

Pets on Ice at Elements

The Rink at Elements is now trialing a “Pets on Ice” programme to allow dog owners to take their dogs… ice-skating. Between 10am to 5pm from Monday’s to Wednesday’s, The Rink are allowing small to medium sized dogs in a stroller (provided by The Rink) onto the ice. Dogs must have a chip and license, and remain in their stroller whilst on the ice to participate. Walk ins are not accepted, and only a limited quota is available so if you want to give this sport a go, you best book in advance.

Snow Experience at Puppuccino

Puppuccino, a dog-friendly restaurant and oasis in Tseung Kwan O, are offering dog owners in Hong Kong the unique opportunity to experience snow with their pups! Become a member and enjoy 45 minutes in the snow room. Humans are provided with snow boots and a down jacket, whilst pups must wear doggie diapers to help keep the room clean. You might also want to bring a little jumper for your pup as it can get quite cold in there! Puppuccino, Shop 6, Alto Residences, 29 Tong Yin St, Tseung Kwan O | (+852) 9291 1268

Spa day

That’s right! You can now enjoy a spa day with your pup. Baku Pet Spa & Massage are now offering treatments for humans and pets, so the dog and owner can enjoy a pampering session under one roof. Humans may enjoy the spa and foot massage, whilst pets can indulge in pet massage, milk spa, water treadmill, as well as a sumptuous pet high tea to top it all off.
